Birding Whidbey Island Movie Project
This inspiring one hour, 21 location DVD shows dozens of interesting bird behaviors filmed on publicly accessible Whidbey Island county, state and federal parks. An engaging movie perfect for beginning or experienced bird enthusiasts and people who enjoy beautiful natural areas!

Brought to you by the people who created “Birds and Backyard Wildlife Habitat”, which was shown to thousands of people at dozens of locations around the Puget Sound area.  This new movie has already shown to capacity crowds for two showings at our local Clyde Theatre and the Whidbey Audubon Society, all were free admission.

Goal:  To educate people young and old about the birds and wildlife of this region and to inspire them to appreciate and protect wildlife habitat.

How:  By getting this movie in front of children through public and private schools; the general public via libraries; and to seniors by donating to senior centers and retirement homes.

Filming, editing, audio work and graphics were all done by Craig Johnson for the love of birds. His wife Joy participated in some of the narration. They both spent hundreds of hours in the field and birding by car to get the needed imagery.

Immense computer work with professional software was necessary to complete the movie. With economy in mind, new equipment was purchased to produce the final DVD project.
DVD jackets were designed by Craig as well, saving additional resources. Funds are needed for:

- Reproduction of DVDs and jackets

- Shipping DVDs to schools and senior centers

- Creating and printing a brochure regarding habitat...

- Recouping costs from purchases to produce movie
